Description
Practically, two kinds of methods are widely used for cable faults pre-location. One is pulse reflection, another is MURRAY Electric Bridge.
Compared with pulse reflection, Electric Bridge is easy to use for operation, especial for fault analysis.
However, Electric Bridge must be have its disadvantage. One example, for primary insulation layer of high resistive cable faults, it is difficult to test. In addition, its precondition is the tested cable length is available and accurate.
Applications
In theory, Electric Bridge for cable test can divided into three types, DC resistor bridge for low resistive cable faults with resistance <10kohm. DC high voltage bridge for high resistive cable faults with resistance between 10kohm and 10M ohm. The third one is AC Schering bridge for Dissipation factor test.
Model CSF 601 is one DC high voltage bridge, its typical application as below.
² Medium & low voltage cable ground faults, single, two, even three phase.
² High voltage cable sheath fault, especial for those 66KV single-core power cable.
Besides typical main applications above, Model CSF 601 two secondary applications as below.
² As DC High Voltage withstand supply, with output up to 15KVdc, the max.current 30mA
² Burning down fault point to reduce high resistance.
As for its application field, Model CSF 601 can be used at jobsite or cable manufacturer.
